We start by understanding some neurological and psychological basics, we put these into practice, developing awareness of how this feels for us, and what might be hindering us, we establish regular micro-habits and short drawing sessions, with consistency to create safety and help us integrate our experience into all aspects of our lives.

I have been a practising artist and teacher for over 20 years. Over this time I have encountered some challenging emotional lows and cycles of burnout. To help myself recover I began to delve into the world of self-help, getting familiar with psychology and many therapies from parts-work to somatic healing and everything in between. 

The more I learnt, the more I began to see the parallels between various healing modalities, research into the brain and what observational drawing did for me. I realised the most powerful route to recovery was my drawing practice. And applying all I had learnt, to how I approach the page, helped me create a healthier way of living and a practice that was so much easier to maintain than the many meditation and mindful techniques I have tried.

Using my pencil as a portal to the present has been the most effective way for me to stay healthy and lean into the fullness of life. I’d love to share this magic with you too.

This is not a step by step drawing course. It goes far beyond that… you will discover transformative benefits…

Here’s exactly how it’s will work: As soon as you sign up, you will have instant access to all 4 units. Be disciplined and complete each video in order! Each video builds on the last and this gentle repetition is critical to experiencing lasting change.

You may hear me reference a Facebook group or live sessions in the videos. For the time being I will not be running in person support but you can ALWAYS contact me with your questions and feedback via my contact page. The price of this course is discounted to reflect the fully self-guided nature of the material.

Unit 1

(Total approximately 2 hrs of viewing)

Self-guided videos: A deep dive to kick-start the course. 5 videos that explore how our brain functions, the mind-body connection and how to use the science to support you in understanding what’s going on for you. 

Practical videos: 3 videos where we’ll experience several mini-meditations to apply your learning and help you embody the theory for yourself. 

Homework: You’ll be set 2 tasks to follow on from the class and you decide the frequency that you will complete them to realistically integrate into your life, setting yourself up for success.

You will receive a guided MP3 to support you.

Unit 2 

(Total approximately 1 hr 30 of viewing)

Self-Guided Sessions: Building on what we covered last module, to consolidate your learning. We look in more depth at how to increase our happiness and break negative thought patterns. 

Practical: We’ll get practical with our pencils so you can begin to see your own potential. Advice on how to choose and approach a subject, so you set yourself up to succeed. 

Homework: You’ll be set some short achievable tasks to continue the process of consolidating your learning and building a new regular, beneficial habit, with a guided MP3 for support.

Unit 3

(Total approximately 1 hr 30 of viewing)

Self-guided sessions: An opportunity to experience a longer practice, apply all you have learnt. Some realistic and practical ways to move forward beyond the course and use all you have learnt in your daily life. 

Homework and Beyond: Two further guided MP3s which you can continue to use beyond the course to sustain your practice.

Unit 4

(Total approximately 2 hrs of viewing)

Self-guided sessions: A chance to ask your questions and get support to move beyond the course. Looking back on how far you've come and what has resonated for you. Reading list and details of anything we've covered that you may want to explore further. A BONUS GIFT to help you continue to integrate what we've covered.

  • Time commitment: Each unit is approximately 90-120mins of self-guided videos. You are aiming to complete a 10 min homework as frequently as you can manage (3-4 times a week is ideal)
